How Should I Celebrate My 500th Post?

Hi All!

I was reading and commenting on other Ultimate Blog Challenge members posts when I saw a member who was celebrating her 100 post. I didn't know how many posts I had so I came and checked my counter. The counter read 496 posts not counting this one. Surprise, surprise I never thought about milestones or anything along those lines. I was just sharing and writing. I'm an information bloodhound. My Grand Daddy taught us that you are to learn something new everyday. (He lived to be 96). I remember when Grand Daddy turned 87, I asked him if there was anything else for him to learn. He smiled and said,"Baby until they throw dirt over you, you should still be learning. Then he told me something new he had learned that day. Amazing.

I remember my very first post, on October 28 2009, was about seeing Muhammad Ali at the Michael Jackson movie premier at Harkins Theatre Tempe Marketplace. That made my year. Smile. I received a grand total of two views.

I have blogged about my opinion; my art; artistic happenings and news from around the world; artists whose work I like. I ran across the artist whose on the left bottom at the Scottsdale Artfest. I was blown away by his steam punk artwork. I didn't understand or like the genre until I saw his work. The post that received the most views over all was (wait for it) my cat Tiger. I ran a contest to find out what her name meant in Persian. She received 263 views.

I added a flag counter a couple of years ago and it has been interesting to see where the folks are coming from. The US is my largest group with Russia coming in second. What's really interesting is to see a country show up on the flag counter and then receive a sale from that country. (Malta anyone).

My counter initially showed that I needed three more posts to reach 500.  I then went through and deleted all the drafts I never finished or pulled the trigger on. After this post I need 32 more posts and I will have 500. Now, I have time to plan what to do. How should I celebrate this very interesting milestone something I never  thought about reaching?

Suggestions greatly appreciated. Smile

  1. 500? Wow; that's quite a milestone. I'm about the same number away from 200, and have been having similar thoughts about whether to celebrate, and if so, how. Sadly, I don't have any suggestions for you, but I'll be interested to see what responses you get.

    1. Yes, he was. I did a 7 day series to celebrate my March 6 , birthday. Granddaddy was in it. I may do a series leading up to Thanksgiving highlighting my family tree.
