Happy Birthday to Baby Girl

My youngest turns 12 today. In our culture the sixteen and twenty-first birthdays are the big blowout events. She has always been an old soul, wiser than her years. Here she is when she was much younger. Little Miss Attitude.

In my family we look like each others kids. I look and act just like my Mommie's oldest sister. Her oldest sister's daughter looks like my Mommie had her. My daughter Syeda looks and acts just like my sister that is my immediate junior. There are times as my daughter has grown its like watching Vanessa grow up all over again. Amazing.

Baby Girl Turns 12 Tommorow

My baby turns 12 tommorow. I remember when she was in the terrible two's and would climb into our laps with a book. You could not move until you read the book to her.

Now its honor roll, mandarin chinese, volleyball, makeup and school dances.

Next up cheerleading (do they still call it that?)

And, no I am not getting older just mellower. LOL

Guitar Playing Tauregs

Last night we attended a artist opening and fundraiser for Artizona.org at Method Art Gallery (formerly Artspace). This photographer had gone to the Sahel in West Africa and photographed the Tuareg people who had discovered the electric guitar (See Scottsdale Republic 9/16/2010). They incorporated the electric guitar into their music. The sound was beautiful. Per the photographer, "There's like one guitar for six guys and they all shared". A lesson we all could learn. The photographs showed the Tauregs and the beauty of the desert.

SHARING FYI For Nonprofits

Macy's is having their big annual fashion show. Nonprofits can sell $10.00 tickets to the fashion show and keep the $10.00 from each ticket. Macy's want prospective customers in the house.

Her Royal Highness Earrings and Bracelet Set

I added this set to my sell sites. A beautiful African amethyst earrings and bracelet in an unusual faceted square cut. Deep purple as only found in Africa. All metals are 14kt gold filled. The earrings are 1 inch from the top of the ear wires. The bracelet is 7 inches and can be lengthened or shortened. I have enough stones for a bracelet and several pairs of earrings. I don't have enough of this unusual gemstone for a full necklace.

Scottsdale Fashion Nite Out

We went to Scottsdale Fashion Square's Fashion Nite Out. I wanted to check out the new trends and see the newer stores (Tory Burch) we had not visited. This was a great way to spend a couple of hours. Lots of fashion shows and giveaways. Very interesting food and drinks giveaways.
